Actually working CC? On my Sims 4 game? It's more likely than you think

Okay. I actually did it.

This is my... I don't know, fourth, fifth attempt at making a Sims 4 CC. I went with something I thought that would be easier and tried converting Billy's KOFXIV bandana to a proper bandana to wear on my Southtown Sims on TS4. After many blood, sweat and tears (emphasize on tears)
I actually managed to make it work. I think I spent a few of my hours for nothing, because if I'm correct, I think the main issue was that S4S only works correctly if you keep the same .package file you first export. I had cloned it and then saved it on another thing, and I think that might have caused my issue.

My issue was... I'm not sure how to describe it. It looked like it worked on S4S, but ingame it wouldn't move the same way with the Sim's head. I guessed that it was still registering the base mesh I selected, tried a bunch of different things and nothing worked. I was close to giving up once again, maybe posting on the S4S forum again but I tried redoing the first steps (that is to export the original mesh as .blend and .package files). and whaddya know. It actually was the problem.

And now it works like a charm. A charm that only needs a little polish: It hides the hair whenever I make the Sim put it on. I tried the fix someone else proposed, but I guess I must be doing something wrong. I'll try to fix that soon.

Now... the next thing I'll try converting is Joe's pra jiads. If I'll be successful, then his hair... maybe? o.o Or maybe I should focus on making the hair Billy should wear under that bandana LOL.
I'm probably getting veeery ahead of myself here, but I'm actually finally happy that I managed to make it work!! ;__;

comments
