Lots of things happened
Saturday, 10 May 2025 11:51 amAnother life update!
1. I think I've not mentioned it here, but I've been constructing a story of a female ruler and her lover-to-be that's a Benedictian monk! >< I have the whole plot nearly finished, but I couldn't hold myself back any longer and started drawing the first chapter of their comic... This is a huge issue I do so often, because when I get stuck in the story, I get so caught up in it that I can't think of anything else the whole time I'm living my daily life. (Even as I'm typing these letters, my mind is still seeking for an answer to the writing block.)
It's been like 2 years or so since I've started a new comic. The only one I managed to finish was a webcomic, and its ending was seriously rushed, so I'm trying to be hold myself back from publishing any of this without having at least 3 chapters. Although I'm trying out a Japanese manga panel layouts, it will also be B&W, so it'll be good practice too. And I love drawing and thinking about them!
2. I've talked about my Octavian obsession that started last November, and it's still ongoing. About three weeks ago, I started thinking about a short story of Agrippa and Octavian, but then that also turned into another comic idea. This one will be like 10 pages most, and I'm going for a more straight panel layouts that you'd see in (geographically) Western comics if that makes sense. There shall be yearning, there shall be silent love proclamations, and there shall be say gex.
3. I still haven't finished the final two chapters of the Chris/Leon fic I've been writing since WHO KNOWS... I need to finish it, but to get my mind in that headspace, I reread the previous chapters, but by then I lose any free time I have, and it's back-to-beginning.
Suffering from serious motivation loss to study lately. It may have to do with what happened last month in my city (huge earthquake), because it really shows you how insignificant anything we plan, do are.
It's been a hot minute since I talked about football here. Thing is, Galatasaray usually fares okay at the start of the season up until near the end that it turns on winning mode lmao. I've missed a lot of matches this season for the days always aligned with my school days where I had to sleep very early. I only managed to watch the derbies, and few Turkish Cup matches since they air them free on TV. Today we have another derby against Trabzonspor and I'm planning to watch it inşallah!
Speaking of Trabzon, their U19 team actually was a finalist in the UEFA Youth Champions League, which is an amazing feat considering they're all made of Turkish homegrown players, compared to the other teams that competed! (For example, their opponent FCB's only La Masia has a budget around €36m which is near the entire Trabzonspor's budget...) Everyone was so hyped for it, but even if they lost, they won a special place in our hearts.
I need to talk about Thomas too. Today, he'll go for his final appearance at Allianz Arena as a Bayern München player. Still feels so weird to think about, but I am getting old. I've already seen lots of faces I've grown watching retire from football, yet, still... It's just something you get so used to.
There are some talks that he'll go for the US. It's what Reus has done, but I don't see that in Müller. He sounded like he's still eager to play in the CL, so I'm actually starting to believe he might go for the Turkish Süper Lig?? My sister joked he'll go for Fenerbahçe 😭 Ağzından yel alsın.

The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley
After about a week, and with attending to my classes, I was able to return to the projects I've mentioned above, but still, I'm very uneasy. The kids at the classes get on my nerves still too, not to mention many times I tried to answer the lecturers, they don't hear me so I stopped answering altogether. For most of the subjects, I study on my own at home, and just spend time drawing in class. I don't know how I'll fare at the finals, but hopefully it will be okay...
